It is one of those tasks that you are reminded of everytime you use the sink but never actually do anything about it...until now! The clogged drain! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTUOj6ySi7DatJWZBS6jISvHpuNbaZ-Hi87uQ_gZoOPaAagmhAjKrlmmHd6pB88DjU62DcdMD6ZxtHK8prvsXDTB-iW_2LAKvF3zg0NT1WhAqjom_1qb2lvXPZg5fAxWV7vLC105rHPy2O/s1600/Clog1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTUOj6ySi7DatJWZBS6jISvHpuNbaZ-Hi87uQ_gZoOPaAagmhAjKrlmmHd6pB88DjU62DcdMD6ZxtHK8prvsXDTB-iW_2LAKvF3zg0NT1WhAqjom_1qb2lvXPZg5fAxWV7vLC105rHPy2O/s320/Clog1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
My bathroom sink drain has been clogged for about 2 months, and every time I use it - multiple times per day - I tell myself that I need to do something about it. I did that today! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnt4nZiE90c4F5hUc19EbsPGO9cTJbPp1WU_hWgSvthbFJVNczWf2QJv5WgF3ZNUEC8u_SjsThICZJ-ItgHADjI-dVv3USVYjyf6FJ0LtoAu2WtSY1_iB38nkADUMETSxwvJRq6LZyQAaY/s1600/Clog+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnt4nZiE90c4F5hUc19EbsPGO9cTJbPp1WU_hWgSvthbFJVNczWf2QJv5WgF3ZNUEC8u_SjsThICZJ-ItgHADjI-dVv3USVYjyf6FJ0LtoAu2WtSY1_iB38nkADUMETSxwvJRq6LZyQAaY/s320/Clog+2.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
My first plan of attack was old school - baking soda and vinegar. After I watched a few "volcanic eruptions" I checked the drain again, and nothing changed. It was a fun experiment anyway. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh59iMrS4ovy4Elzu00uas64oK8lbVYcCqTYhQv-89kaXCCggb1Zd41j2PXwdXrxKBlzlrzSWfxTnyd42NcetO-e-QOY5E5RVuLTyFPBQozBYAM-5_HXPbqrl0N7mRmvlmnvkW9JaWJNXLv/s1600/Clog3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh59iMrS4ovy4Elzu00uas64oK8lbVYcCqTYhQv-89kaXCCggb1Zd41j2PXwdXrxKBlzlrzSWfxTnyd42NcetO-e-QOY5E5RVuLTyFPBQozBYAM-5_HXPbqrl0N7mRmvlmnvkW9JaWJNXLv/s320/Clog3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I then had to bring in the big guns - Liquid Plumr. Target came through for me at only $3.49 for the bottle.<br />
<br />
I followed the directions on the back of the bottle - dumped the entire bottle down the drain, waited 15 minutes and then flushed with hot water. It worked! It's still not perfect, but I'll take the progress for 15 minutes worth of waiting. <br />
<br />
<br />
Cheers to a clear(ish) drain! <br />

<br />
<br />
Wahoo! Only 10,000 more things to do! And that includes painting the walls in the guest room. Sadly, it won't be done before the guests come, but it is definitely on my short list! Any color suggestions?<br />
<br />
Have a great week!<br />

Time: <15 min<br />
Money: $<br />
Project Planner: Kristin<br />
<br />
This week's project was inspired by the Frozen Yogurt Dots that keep popping up on Pinterest. I followed the directions on <a href="http://www.housingaforest.com/frozen-yogurt-dots/" target="_blank">Housing a Forest</a>. However, instead of Greek yogurt, I used Australian yogurt because it was in the fridge (and it's delicious!!). <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE2I9Wg_JWF95DWksBZHrciU6hvhf-UA4hEkDTzppgBMwF3rxEQxz4jaO2OexkLKhuQ5ZO9OUejEQqwJMtOdRIsLmGa2c6H8gEZAkCwWIq_GyWadWa84CJHxr-lS7l71ntVw3rBeeK-rtQ/s1600/IMAG1836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE2I9Wg_JWF95DWksBZHrciU6hvhf-UA4hEkDTzppgBMwF3rxEQxz4jaO2OexkLKhuQ5ZO9OUejEQqwJMtOdRIsLmGa2c6H8gEZAkCwWIq_GyWadWa84CJHxr-lS7l71ntVw3rBeeK-rtQ/s320/IMAG1836.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The most difficult part of this {easy} project was getting the yogurt into the bag. I ended up using a spoon and only made a minor mess so I consider it a success. Once the yogurt was in the bag, I cut the corner and then went to take a picture. Of course, it dripped. #reallifeblogging<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6ZeU9eg9Uv87VLliCOm1nP_dI0YN1Npl4BLlGOl0Q_ogVGQ4x6vxfaZTo6nGnDx2htyeBuFa-r36opqR8rFWfsS5R5SI747Z7yvqcEqHEIYl-g81XqLpv7xAf7j2szsNWrnxElt6NzR-y/s1600/IMAG1839.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6ZeU9eg9Uv87VLliCOm1nP_dI0YN1Npl4BLlGOl0Q_ogVGQ4x6vxfaZTo6nGnDx2htyeBuFa-r36opqR8rFWfsS5R5SI747Z7yvqcEqHEIYl-g81XqLpv7xAf7j2szsNWrnxElt6NzR-y/s320/IMAG1839.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
It took me less than five minutes to cover the pan in yogurt dots. I found that the best method was to place the bag straight down onto the pan, gently squeeze, and then lift straight up. I perfected the method as I went. Can you tell that I started on the left? <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMNAXPX2lP9vlgLpjTtKc7knDZqGDFD-2cOBFE85pVVvdu64zN4kMfAMKWbzGd1E1vMGbmOTRFwiaDnDfpx4kZC2MaV6ReGKjjR49wE8xTkCEqV3_7gMsn8mYddqiz0slNxA4b1ZbpLSDQ/s1600/IMAG1842.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMNAXPX2lP9vlgLpjTtKc7knDZqGDFD-2cOBFE85pVVvdu64zN4kMfAMKWbzGd1E1vMGbmOTRFwiaDnDfpx4kZC2MaV6ReGKjjR49wE8xTkCEqV3_7gMsn8mYddqiz0slNxA4b1ZbpLSDQ/s320/IMAG1842.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The pan then went into the freezer for a few hours. The dots were then scooped up and placed into another bag and then returned to the freezer. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOa5AzDyMk3DrTXNtnGRPMiCqtOZ4VrwR5fbhu-Jm3Y6hk6UD8Xp4S5XVY-aUx5pz_5Goz5ow2z_xQtiCAwOSInhOmXivlz3ZsqrtoO7XY4mcCq4QVOIWS79IY3EoO6lKStxQ4EHozK73f/s1600/IMAG1875.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOa5AzDyMk3DrTXNtnGRPMiCqtOZ4VrwR5fbhu-Jm3Y6hk6UD8Xp4S5XVY-aUx5pz_5Goz5ow2z_xQtiCAwOSInhOmXivlz3ZsqrtoO7XY4mcCq4QVOIWS79IY3EoO6lKStxQ4EHozK73f/s320/IMAG1875.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
Now, this may seem silly, but I think I hoped that this process would make the yogurt taste like drops of frozen yogurt not <i>frozen</i> yogurt. Follow me? I wasn't impressed and ended up throwing them out after they sat abandoned for a few weeks. I guess if I'm going to eat yogurt, I'm fine with eating it normal. The frozen dots just didn't do it for me!<br />
<br />
Have you made frozen yogurt dots? What did you think? Who wants <b>real</b> frozen yogurt right now? ME! Like nine inches last night and about the same last week. Yuck!<br />
<br />
So possibly because I'm desperately craving the sight of grass and the warm feeling of the sun, I went out and got a part-time job at a local garden center a couple of weeks ago.<br />
<br />
And look what has followed me home!<br />

I didn't even take a <i>before</i> picture because games were being stored all over the house. But, I'm very excited to show you the after photo...<br />

<strong></strong><br />
You made it to Wednesday - half the work week is over, and you can look forward to getting so much checked off your to do list this weekend! This project only requires one item to be purchased - a fun noodle! I have seen this on Pinterest numerous times, and always thought it was a great idea, mostly because the tall boots in my closet look like this: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWeiRHSkP2Li-WwXNC9p-Dl33jbnnfikjJz1GBSTjVwyG-6pFypG0bb7MdCUez_Hrqr6Xgk_9WTNisHCQqVhUjzVCL0L58SeInaWZAS5FVncDKqiiLWNqkQDrMwVmyiUp-MHxLolofgzH1/s320/TallBoots1.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There are two things wrong with this picture:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1) The boots don't look happy or nice to look at</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2) The next time I wear either of those pairs of boots, there will be crease in the leather from sitting in my closet like that</div>
<br />
This project takes five minutes and requires little materials and in the end, my boots will look much happier in my closet. <br />
<br />
I first went to Target to get two fun noodles - it nearly broke my bank account - $1.99 each!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL5KJPAyaYVuEDnSN6BjEiYRggnc46wuNVvIJddvgnleXQebGjGOQMT8YpVlLX7UYZYtAAVIN5TvXGgkmDOVVgXa9vh1Y8xiQrp0Vz7FAy20b-ZOI1m9iAfMjlf2CYTXtaw5Q2P0WYJZjv/s320/TallBoots5.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Then, I used a very scientific measuring system to know how long to cut the noodle. Put my boot next to the noodle and marked it with the knife. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQvLQwdF6b3yQFhrAKTmNTQkaCjjgJTLHNG7REkkltoDPEXkwpiiE-qvCskfNzmpY6z8lGLbVkWeDlm-AEB6CbGJQivInCY0dGbDgA12oP3VldQ2i1cYrT4RKDD4ZLwFONlkdn7Aub85ld/s1600/TallBoots4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQvLQwdF6b3yQFhrAKTmNTQkaCjjgJTLHNG7REkkltoDPEXkwpiiE-qvCskfNzmpY6z8lGLbVkWeDlm-AEB6CbGJQivInCY0dGbDgA12oP3VldQ2i1cYrT4RKDD4ZLwFONlkdn7Aub85ld/s320/TallBoots4.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2P-mEs2mT9wJWFvpy7cRusR8HawHSYDlwzcUC0THWUAYkbkCACD_qFHvnuWm6LPtYWumOP6-FRbTZf4fKC9M4KP3gWEEqxW6Z2q5QzsP7xhaYtGE-YQKivFR_hifu071qOgwm-LXV2yjY/s1600/TallBoots4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><br />
<br />
My choice of cutting tool was a bread knife - it worked PERFECTLY. And beleive me, no large bicep muscles are needed to cut through a styrofoam noodle! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijcl0thveV8ayHocTpEWnHUipHwLY8MlCkhV_td1b6_j85NoiM_s2WKWQwRq7r3m9jYnR_uAA39faXX4JF9Hyj5TlQuSIjZqoi2i596D0R62qZcLpeixkRRA89e7h9pSyBcdyID2gvglOr/s1600/TallBoots3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijcl0thveV8ayHocTpEWnHUipHwLY8MlCkhV_td1b6_j85NoiM_s2WKWQwRq7r3m9jYnR_uAA39faXX4JF9Hyj5TlQuSIjZqoi2i596D0R62qZcLpeixkRRA89e7h9pSyBcdyID2gvglOr/s320/TallBoots3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I was able to get three boots worth out of one noodle, so for two noodles, you can do three pairs of boots (of course depending on the height needed). Not bad though. For reference, my boots go almost to my knees, so they are pretty tall. <br />
<br />
I then slipped the noodles in the boots and put them back in my closet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiO5g8kwi-WkQQ_dyPnc42SfQ6ql23zC5oysXtZoZfAOF2uabdHWdNBzQkXzdrUzIIJdPnndql9jFbsDWH2LaMuVX58PB27uk8Yc0FD9q4Vj3Xt3FLG4qC5b4XfBvCxQ5zxwYGpcPdscNqm/s1600/TallBoots2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiO5g8kwi-WkQQ_dyPnc42SfQ6ql23zC5oysXtZoZfAOF2uabdHWdNBzQkXzdrUzIIJdPnndql9jFbsDWH2LaMuVX58PB27uk8Yc0FD9q4Vj3Xt3FLG4qC5b4XfBvCxQ5zxwYGpcPdscNqm/s320/TallBoots2.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
Much better! <br />
Now go get those noodles because Tall Boots Should be Tall!!<br />
Happy Wednesday!<br />

When we moved into our house eleven months ago, we changed the air filter and I made a mental note to change it again in a few months. As you might suspect, I forgot. So, this Thursday's Terrible Task was to replace the air filter. Unfortunately, I guessed on the filter size so my first attempt was a bust. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSOmdos_i9iUWGez_-h7X7r_y7wvLMA40gtD3ubZp5-CFpcTossCXp79C49aIQDfxqSHKlCQ4zr7Y15RarUZhG3I9slTLCk_cooFDI3ctxzSgIIkyRus3-TKr45JDP3CCULLhVmomdz_TL/s1600/IMAG1890.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSOmdos_i9iUWGez_-h7X7r_y7wvLMA40gtD3ubZp5-CFpcTossCXp79C49aIQDfxqSHKlCQ4zr7Y15RarUZhG3I9slTLCk_cooFDI3ctxzSgIIkyRus3-TKr45JDP3CCULLhVmomdz_TL/s320/IMAG1890.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
In case you can't tell, that picture shows that the cap doesn't fit because I bought the wrong size filter. Back to the store I went to purchase the correct size. The new one fit perfectly and I added a note in my phone to help me remember the filter size the next time I'm wandering the aisles of Target. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkS7y8h5rV0LxlMWwtiaID8ZwAFZC1RIo19gfzhQDLshjWdwTGFmiqgHbwnxe8wMZ6tLBxQOIZMsJQiaY-DUVxIHWV4RGXSsk7gDEHQWibZfvbkJ8b3zLVGkvTNsdj57eWajSmD70F-em-/s1600/IMAG1904.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkS7y8h5rV0LxlMWwtiaID8ZwAFZC1RIo19gfzhQDLshjWdwTGFmiqgHbwnxe8wMZ6tLBxQOIZMsJQiaY-DUVxIHWV4RGXSsk7gDEHQWibZfvbkJ8b3zLVGkvTNsdj57eWajSmD70F-em-/s320/IMAG1904.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
Okay peeps, I'm only showing you this next picture in the hope that it may motivate you to change your air filters sooner rather than later. It is a tad disturbing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis1VcYWDv5QGd4G1Qg8G3CRFuQRo_Cq28sVNxx7DUzLyhK7GkLtuFXDBqm6PKxW8tPAqd9U3SmnQZyXB2E4Wi5SsmsxZzakfxNwwPX1UJXCMWU6n7YfNC0-4mEgOVfRbxfDjYlU7J5NdVI/s1600/IMAG1905.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis1VcYWDv5QGd4G1Qg8G3CRFuQRo_Cq28sVNxx7DUzLyhK7GkLtuFXDBqm6PKxW8tPAqd9U3SmnQZyXB2E4Wi5SsmsxZzakfxNwwPX1UJXCMWU6n7YfNC0-4mEgOVfRbxfDjYlU7J5NdVI/s320/IMAG1905.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
That would be the new filter on the left and the old, dirty, disgusting filter on the right. The packaging says that the filter is good for twelve months, but I'm thinking that I'm going to change it every six months. I don't want to see that color ever again!<br />
<br />
Also, instead of relying on my memory, this time I added a reminder in the calendar on my phone.<br />
<br />
What's the message here? Go change your air filter! Or your water purifer filter! Or your fish tank filter...?! I can't think of any other sorts of filters, but you know! <br /></div>
Hey, it's Wednesday! That means it's time for a project! For the past couple of weeks, I keep running across beautiful, organized, walk-in pantries on Pinterest. Besides the fact that I don't believe these spaces are real because all of the food matches the color scheme, I don't know ANYONE who has that big of a pantry. But I'm still envious, so I decided it was time to make my own tiny pantry a bit more organized. What that really meant was that I had to figure out a better solution for our baking ingredients. When I was single, baking ingredients meant flour and sugar. Now that my husband does the cooking, baking ingredients apparently mean almond meal, flaxseed meal, coconut flour, oat flour, xylital, and on and on. I don't know what to do with any of them, but I do know how to organize, so organize I did! <br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Last week I realized that the cupboard that we stored the baking ingredients in was just not going to work. At all. There wasn't easy access to anything so stuff just got piled in and it constantly looked like a mess. I pulled everything out (it was originally piled into the bottom shelf in the below picture) and threw in some new stuff. The cupboard is perfect for our recipes, paper products (in the back), and our pencil/scissors/screwdriver jar. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqw_TpdkgdGH4NNGkDrU8x8RpHsYK3-V22w9hWUVq8TykG9nDzOpHx4N1RwlWC7HX2rsmY5RiTDI9N5lCXGRToAFoZysQLCxlDrfSoyzOWMpixOrGvxAHsAzvULaaaW6tuWRiVq1OlK4HH/s1600/Old+Cupboard.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqw_TpdkgdGH4NNGkDrU8x8RpHsYK3-V22w9hWUVq8TykG9nDzOpHx4N1RwlWC7HX2rsmY5RiTDI9N5lCXGRToAFoZysQLCxlDrfSoyzOWMpixOrGvxAHsAzvULaaaW6tuWRiVq1OlK4HH/s320/Old+Cupboard.jpeg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
Then a week went by so the baking goods ended up in a longer cupboard where it was easier to grab items. Still not organized though.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-je0w4tGScMc8znpdGCUECAlddJaAV1sEM1B5F3wdG-K6DpCOJLj_oz32oLIYC1N81ybm3asvNDibFGv0Ppu4RPJBzmzP5fkrLY3wwO00HzNOL4svw_2lN3FkJgK8ZruY68wWT0sWe2qe/s1600/New+Situation.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-je0w4tGScMc8znpdGCUECAlddJaAV1sEM1B5F3wdG-K6DpCOJLj_oz32oLIYC1N81ybm3asvNDibFGv0Ppu4RPJBzmzP5fkrLY3wwO00HzNOL4svw_2lN3FkJgK8ZruY68wWT0sWe2qe/s320/New+Situation.jpeg" width="180" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I looked around at several stores until I found the below containers at our grocery store. They are perfect because I can fit two on top of each other, we can easily see when we are running low on an item, and they are cheap! Each container was less than $4!<br />
<br />
I bought the store out (two times) and am waiting for them to replenish their supply again as I still need two more. I then labeled each container with cute stickers that I found in the dollar section at Target.<br />

<br />
The reason I chose to label each container by letter is because I figured that if I went through the effort to make actual labels, we would eventually no longer cook with an ingredient (like Xantha Gum) and then I wouldn't be able to create a matching label again. So, I decided to label them by letter (not by number because the cute stickers didn't have numbers!). Then, I poured each ingredient into their corresponding container and put everything back into the cupboard.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR0dEuXHcrcD9ulybuxhcY9NTDJeuk-kE6qEqCeMEudLf6JJXIwMp6GN9Zo3LmlXQtAxTrzyx10vbMKhplxOT9myMpuPO-r34eZlKYqgY7mVyoy7zUOgp8pnQeWAqKua1JMtZhJzAKFggo/s1600/Looking+pretty.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR0dEuXHcrcD9ulybuxhcY9NTDJeuk-kE6qEqCeMEudLf6JJXIwMp6GN9Zo3LmlXQtAxTrzyx10vbMKhplxOT9myMpuPO-r34eZlKYqgY7mVyoy7zUOgp8pnQeWAqKua1JMtZhJzAKFggo/s320/Looking+pretty.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This was one of those projects where the end result was exactly how I had hoped it would look in my head. Of course, I still needed a cheat sheet, so I made the following sign with scrapbook paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhurT4QCF_U-M4Wp15JaZg8B_3PxPGhOm5eXP8C_NiAW8MUr6Z8pNpJbYUqoQ1ojsqJxfnq2bkC4qJyJ1FJJ69XN9WDutKgPlfw5TCDY0KBbui2DhQAlZZg6USL3iHl59IK1XmEm0xjRHFK/s1600/Final+Step.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhurT4QCF_U-M4Wp15JaZg8B_3PxPGhOm5eXP8C_NiAW8MUr6Z8pNpJbYUqoQ1ojsqJxfnq2bkC4qJyJ1FJJ69XN9WDutKgPlfw5TCDY0KBbui2DhQAlZZg6USL3iHl59IK1XmEm0xjRHFK/s320/Final+Step.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The sign is now hanging on the inside of the cupboard door.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPh8Cs1-CNIiGNElxxugl5ZPBHJa2vThJRkEGytxHcNWfOyF2KSsTVPoGyaMJBLLRN1pgfKWl6q8pc_LBUsz_FtOqxkNXFPKq3SWH5H4Y4FhkOQOb9VPOol3o6y9Kt2EzqstoB_dRR0xMb/s1600/Key.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPh8Cs1-CNIiGNElxxugl5ZPBHJa2vThJRkEGytxHcNWfOyF2KSsTVPoGyaMJBLLRN1pgfKWl6q8pc_LBUsz_FtOqxkNXFPKq3SWH5H4Y4FhkOQOb9VPOol3o6y9Kt2EzqstoB_dRR0xMb/s320/Key.jpeg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
Holy moly I love it! It makes so much more sense and I wish that I had done this two years ago! <br />
<br />
See you tomorrow!<br />

<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><strong></strong></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Hello there! Boy, do I have a quick project for all of you! It literally took less than 5 minutes and I have a clock to prove it! :) </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The problem I started with was my phone charger cord near my bed was always falling down between my bed and wall. I would have to dig behind my pillows and bed to find the cord each night. I wanted the cord to always be accessible on my nightstand. I made a quick stop at the Container Store and found the perfect solution...CableDrops! </span><br />
<strong><span style="font-family: inherit;"></span></strong><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrDq5Z32Hu7cmhKM6hljM6pS85lR4XlfHcsYZM86njz_OWInXCA8dCixR7UBoYHjIK5IbuSLXuityFfEkUqn7F9IchGQ_MomWu7KfX24lYu1U5owor5Grs8QLxIrjVrWgbmuqvgzMdNM4D/s1600/cord3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrDq5Z32Hu7cmhKM6hljM6pS85lR4XlfHcsYZM86njz_OWInXCA8dCixR7UBoYHjIK5IbuSLXuityFfEkUqn7F9IchGQ_MomWu7KfX24lYu1U5owor5Grs8QLxIrjVrWgbmuqvgzMdNM4D/s320/cord3.jpg" width="240" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">They were $9.99 for a pack of six, so because this project only used one of the drops, it cost less than $5! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The CableDrops have a peel off sticky back. You just peel off the backing and stick it to your surface. </span></div>

Today's task was actually not that terrible, but qualifies as a Tx3 because I had been putting it off for quite awhile. This Tx3 series makes me sound like such a procrastinator! Generally, I wouldn't use that label to describe myself, but I may need to rethink that! :-) <br />
<br />
Anyway, months ago the hubby kicked the dog food out of the kitchen. It was taking up an entire lower cabinet and he politely informed me that priority went to the pots and pans. This kind of threw me for a bit so the food bin ended up against the wall in the kitchen for longer than I care to admit. Not a great look. <br />
<br />
I kept trying to figure out a new space for the bin <i>in the kitchen. </i>There was no space. I then realized that it would need to be moved outside of the kitchen. Having an actual place to store the food was just going to have to trump the convenience of it being a few feet away from the dog dishes. New solution: the closet under the stairs in the living room. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiy9la_Fi6l_kH-XuO1T9C67e3NJwycHeOdOsgbJvBQ83vQT0gU2vcM9Pw8ZVx3leymQ_qnaAlMAdYKWxib_rGTa4tKACk-m1gKkPQ3wMqqtNENqqm7PFY6l47FDfskhyrffuFcFJIzsVqJ/s1600/IMAG1681.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiy9la_Fi6l_kH-XuO1T9C67e3NJwycHeOdOsgbJvBQ83vQT0gU2vcM9Pw8ZVx3leymQ_qnaAlMAdYKWxib_rGTa4tKACk-m1gKkPQ3wMqqtNENqqm7PFY6l47FDfskhyrffuFcFJIzsVqJ/s1600/IMAG1681.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
We store cleaning tools on the wall to the right and holiday decoration in the space to the left. I decided that moving the dog food in would be a great use of space as we rarely use the decorations and would still be able to grab the cleaning tools.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglYMA_PNA283qDXW7tew-Q6VGY1aGileL44x6RoMXJN4Rnpv8hrfzNJfcWhJXUvJcaaIGUBjLw1knBBGV4AbhO8wIJ7WPb169H3yUvFRniwrT0SLeF96pvxa7BEs3hr06fQWtCFNrMODEc/s1600/IMAG1683.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglYMA_PNA283qDXW7tew-Q6VGY1aGileL44x6RoMXJN4Rnpv8hrfzNJfcWhJXUvJcaaIGUBjLw1knBBGV4AbhO8wIJ7WPb169H3yUvFRniwrT0SLeF96pvxa7BEs3hr06fQWtCFNrMODEc/s1600/IMAG1683.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
Don't worry, as we continue to blog, I'm bound to get better at taking pictures. Not sure why I didn't take a close up! Anyway, I re-assigned a bin from Target that I had been using in a different closet in order to make this new arrangement even more functional. The food bin is on the top and treats, rawhides, and extra food is housed inside the bin. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
The best part?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7TSCYvYl67nFoYaZwnLEkFTy0MgmbSn8zEFScaFVVIRrz4qjvHlbpX9m-N36VGvdkJvEq6tKAZ6_YeLKNtDG4kN3Whp_KEiBJbbexJLURvRA1UzWer52bfCdePCRdmPWVw3Ol52K_8G8o/s1600/IMAG1684.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7TSCYvYl67nFoYaZwnLEkFTy0MgmbSn8zEFScaFVVIRrz4qjvHlbpX9m-N36VGvdkJvEq6tKAZ6_YeLKNtDG4kN3Whp_KEiBJbbexJLURvRA1UzWer52bfCdePCRdmPWVw3Ol52K_8G8o/s1600/IMAG1684.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
No more food bins sitting out in the kitchen! Mission accomplished! I think this is going to work great and feel silly that I didn't think of it earlier. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
Anything bothering you around your house that just needs some brain power? I think it is so funny that I let myself be irritated by something for so long only to completely eliminate the annoyance after spending five minutes thinking of a new solution. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
I hope this Tx3 series challenges you to implement changes to make your own home more even functional!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
Later!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Well, we are <i>finally</i> starting to decorate our master bedroom and I am so excited! We started by purchasing new bed linens and so I decided to freshen up the mattress before putting on the new sheets. I've seen this idea all over Pinterest so I'm not going to cite a specific project. </span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">I started by stripping all the old linens off of the bed. Like so. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDc1N_byZZXArB0F3hF4yGCVr6fqFeDENamAGXy2ECRunzI8z4j0BBKZs3pX2BCxDGRCqZcDMkwYQ1fuX52qSIerzXhEAgXo2bsFheYE65Wm2zmesYG4bHDyTs08SV98mP9qm9jQrzUV8s/s1600/IMAG1704.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDc1N_byZZXArB0F3hF4yGCVr6fqFeDENamAGXy2ECRunzI8z4j0BBKZs3pX2BCxDGRCqZcDMkwYQ1fuX52qSIerzXhEAgXo2bsFheYE65Wm2zmesYG4bHDyTs08SV98mP9qm9jQrzUV8s/s1600/IMAG1704.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;">I grabbed a box of baking soda and added in some grapefruit essential oil. Smelled delicious! I sprinkled it all over the mattress and let it sit for 10 minutes. </span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;">I then pulled out the vacuum and discovered this handy extension tool.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcsk7WIy_te2DkukcIqord3fnvMjRFmD2zBGBcdo9H03xytdcmK2dnUBrLpry4oAKy5__sALOLXRH2_vyKbEG9Lfpcxj2EYpzjgriSRkFqzaV19N6wVWvDg6MdX06HMpx6Q3MFUKiJLsFQ/s1600/IMAG1705.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcsk7WIy_te2DkukcIqord3fnvMjRFmD2zBGBcdo9H03xytdcmK2dnUBrLpry4oAKy5__sALOLXRH2_vyKbEG9Lfpcxj2EYpzjgriSRkFqzaV19N6wVWvDg6MdX06HMpx6Q3MFUKiJLsFQ/s1600/IMAG1705.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;">It worked awesome and sucked up all the baking soda like a pro. I can't really tell if this technique "worked" because our mattress did not have a smell or anything beforehand, but- in my head- it feels cleaner! </span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;">I put the new linens back on the bed and we are continuing on with decorating our bedroom.</span></div>

<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Calibri;">Did you notice that the wall color changed? We painted it the same day as this project so I snapped a picture of the linens with their matching grey rather than the old tan walls. Also, don't pay attention to the boxes (yes, boxes!) that we are using for a nightstand right now. Just taking the time to find the perfect tables! </span></div>

Back for a <i>very</i> late Terrible Task Thursday (Tx3). I'm happy to tell you that I successfully completed a task that I have been putting off since October. Yes, that would be five months of serious procrastination. <br />
<br />
Back in October, in a moment of clouded and misguided excitement, my husband and I decided that we were going to make a bookshelf out of wood and cement pavers. It was a horrible decision and we regretted it as soon as we started to move the heavy pavers into our upstairs office. Besides the fact that it was really expensive (we know nothing about wood and bought the most expensive type), it wasn't large enough and looked crummy. <br />
<br />
So the project was deemed a failure, but I put off returning the pavers because the thought of carrying them all back downstairs made my want to weep. Then Tx3 was created and was just the motivation that I needed to return those suckers!<br />
<br />
Here is the empty shelf in all of its too small glory.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQUfAgnCV_dnrw3ukHzkpbKbbr2CcdU7y7kzEznPbkdV6pbZcBs-jjeB5pKtfTp-UkNNAIZvwNb1oMhj0KaRJ-g2W_PsGOUHJJ7FPL-jnk4JEq1Gzn5sZK8K76TvAOWUSz43zK1XQe4FpU/s1600/IMAG1740.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQUfAgnCV_dnrw3ukHzkpbKbbr2CcdU7y7kzEznPbkdV6pbZcBs-jjeB5pKtfTp-UkNNAIZvwNb1oMhj0KaRJ-g2W_PsGOUHJJ7FPL-jnk4JEq1Gzn5sZK8K76TvAOWUSz43zK1XQe4FpU/s1600/IMAG1740.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
First step was moving the pavers to the top of the stairs. Our puppy, Joey, supervised. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHDTxM1Gsa7W7ympieNL6w-i4oc2QlCaqB9L3IyFR7P9cREuy6up0n0dRVQcAIXGwMXQTFckfhyphenhyphenGZfDijKxxaWq514nRt6KU4yOmw_DKBHpgev_JnD-mZZ1RuLTTCBSlArA5lTw9Zo_hAn/s1600/IMAG1741.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHDTxM1Gsa7W7ympieNL6w-i4oc2QlCaqB9L3IyFR7P9cREuy6up0n0dRVQcAIXGwMXQTFckfhyphenhyphenGZfDijKxxaWq514nRt6KU4yOmw_DKBHpgev_JnD-mZZ1RuLTTCBSlArA5lTw9Zo_hAn/s1600/IMAG1741.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
This pile looks so small. Please believe me that they were heavy and hard to hold. I could only carry three at a time, so I bribed myself with one M&M each time I walked through the kitchen. Totally worked.<br />
<br />
And here is the final picture... all loaded up on the Home Depot cart in the parking lot. Beautiful.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNZOvrw9ll9AK4NU4TSKN6h1TwU77DIgTqtNA2rpQ6nMN3YAdB8IKK8GV5prS9B3hfGDancPif0ESXnueeEr5SU-jSaALo-umS2FHnnGSNo_bW6a0DrkVxp6b5fJaK5U41iyNb5uwjK9zQ/s1600/IMAG1742.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNZOvrw9ll9AK4NU4TSKN6h1TwU77DIgTqtNA2rpQ6nMN3YAdB8IKK8GV5prS9B3hfGDancPif0ESXnueeEr5SU-jSaALo-umS2FHnnGSNo_bW6a0DrkVxp6b5fJaK5U41iyNb5uwjK9zQ/s1600/IMAG1742.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm so thankful (and surprised!) that HD took these pavers back. I was totally ready to tell the cashier that I wanted to make a donation<i> </i>to the store if they wouldn't take them! And then run... :-) <br />
<br />
I'm so excited this is done and am now brainstorming different Pinterest ideas for the wood boards. Do you have any ideas? Any errands that you have been putting off? Please share!<br />
<br />
See you on Wednesday!<br />

<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Holidays are fun. Holidays are great. But holidays are even more fun with a special
centerpiece to look at!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjejDkkj08_gCDLP-uwrBErt9OuL_6YOX1gHI55jKEC7keLKkb24oIvUe3xc3HyGEJps1Qj2Ho7apM8Kd6b3wA2tUawPEPko79iklnwPduDxghTqXWDHVxxU9h1g1lF-9okk7xe3kWECx1b/s1600/Peeps+and+Beans+Centerpiece1.jpg" width="212" /></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">This centerpiece is inspired by the Easter candy that
everyone loves – but has no idea why – Peeps!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> I first found this project on Pinterest from the blog <a href="http://petersonstories.blogspot.com/2012/03/spring-crafts-and-decoration.html">Peterson Stories</a></span>. </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The greatest part about this centerpiece is that it only takes about 3.76423
minutes to put together, give or take a minute.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You also need
to have next to zero skills to put this centerpiece together.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Kids, brothers, grandmas or even your dog
could help!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>(Sidenote: I don’t really
recommend the dog helping; sugar and dogs normally don’t mix well)</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0PjJEaXvreMtQkiB0FXsV3tYpeBqLLGU48KxXsUr6tohvy1DrRX-viYRVbC_1KooWEhWag9HXlwPNthZ8mmtPivBiqXgPX_mQqBoXjbzF8gMKog4tpymbP5cnTGs9Q10lSYphf65odDLw/s1600/Peeps+and+Beans+Centerpiece2.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Step 1 – Start off with an empty clear container – use what
you have!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I already had this vase at
home <s>collecting dust</s> ready for inspiration, but I saw something very
similar at Target for around $9.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I think
it is more fun to use a glass container as you can then see all the bright
spring colors, but an opaque blue, green or pink container would also do the
trick!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB5vCzGGdQOvII300dbL9nFn6xdrGFKqUpWEMRefqn0GdWSldHgk76wQnMVwo0pH0gtW6jAW4WE4xszMtnKCK0qXmCdwT4K3i0rEuNjePP7qrl2g0VqamYKFybtFI3bVNInMcNlBAgPcVW/s1600/Peeps+and+Beans+Centerpiece5.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6uTFytsGHVgYTnNY8Oi3EawEKnJ3H57wfON8ceh3ffqkz820ZW5-ZpbdcvvBP7-OL4JxgTTUqyctEPxf4IeXuPUlfNP8MYs6qVt3B65l30xUiRFR6vtkqoVLnPQ5_ZGhdPamBCGX_oToO/s1600/Peeps+and+Beans+Centerpiece4.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Step 2 – Next, pour the entire bag of jelly beans into the
bottom of the vase.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Picking the jelly
beans at the store was quite stressful for me – I went with Starburst Tropical
Jelly Beans because I thought they would have the brightest colors – however, you
could really choose any jelly beans that suit your fancy!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrtcO4GZJ-lQ0n-j2igtjYUkaS4b1x8EXB8ufH0gASHV2bLY_5aHIsPNdYBWV7S86-yxmjM56-4eFz-evWD3pfbPCcLFZl-UIp5p0RuTDf0gKqqEuSDu1Hh8JPdeN8sMOGCAnbp67o8HW-/s1600/Peeps+and+Beans+Centerpiece6.jpg" /></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Step 3 – Line the peeps along the outside of the container
(again choosing a Peep color shouldn’t be stressful).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Make sure the faces of the peeps face the
outside!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Step 4 – Set the flowers in the middle of the vase.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You may have to trim them depending on the
height of the container you used.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Step 5 – Enjoy!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">It really is that simple!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Now, go!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Gather your supplies,
and spend 4 minutes making this centerpiece to make your holiday even more fun

Tx3... or Terrible Task Thursday! <br />
<br />
Here is the deal... every Thursday, we'll write about a terrible task that we tackled that day. It doesn't necessary have to be gross or messy, but it has to be something that has been put off for at least a month. Since we committed to doing Tx3, I've accomplished a ton of projects that I have been procrastinating... go figure! So, are you up for it? Go ahead and start brainstorming a list of horrible things. It doesn't matter how big or small!<br />
<br />
So, what did I do today? I brought my car in to get the tires rotated. Not a huge deal, I know. But, I get free tire rotations at a shop that is not on my route to/from work. Plus, I have to wait about an hour once I get there. Mainly because of that reason, I have put it off for way too many miles. But, thanks to Tx3, my tires are now rotated and it is finally crossed off my to-do list on the fridge!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD44Cu9rpDVbYTbYM0ch5Im8rk3FhqbYm9jigUXN-GOCP3Meae7cY-FrIKhS0eIiLcDZeSMHjCJ1bhDTQb2uncvzhTqmA4CtB1gLCqBNtDAnREcphapZQyXTSgtJjh2CmKzMr6CTNiKzJj/s1600/Rotate+Tires.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD44Cu9rpDVbYTbYM0ch5Im8rk3FhqbYm9jigUXN-GOCP3Meae7cY-FrIKhS0eIiLcDZeSMHjCJ1bhDTQb2uncvzhTqmA4CtB1gLCqBNtDAnREcphapZQyXTSgtJjh2CmKzMr6CTNiKzJj/s1600/Rotate+Tires.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Yay! Now go forth and conquer your own terrible task! <br />

<b>Planner: Kristin</b><br />
<br />
It's Wednesday! Are you ready to tackle a project? How about a homemade air freshener? I found my inspiration from the following Pinterest project originally posted by <a href="http://www.imperfecthomemaking.com/2011/05/super-simple-homemade-air-freshener.html" target="_blank">The Complete Guide to Imperfect Homemaking</a>. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_lk_QKMXj7070bVxgWtov8ItSV-RFo7jVbXvtOVxyAceM_5u8zHNLL75nSLvpnR30VwuW8AEZd25oZgdJsOvv-n17JEpF6cicdGMX4ixQQi4y74V_LEKAsD5Hb3ZiRu1MJQ1tXno6f058/s1600/Pinterest.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_lk_QKMXj7070bVxgWtov8ItSV-RFo7jVbXvtOVxyAceM_5u8zHNLL75nSLvpnR30VwuW8AEZd25oZgdJsOvv-n17JEpF6cicdGMX4ixQQi4y74V_LEKAsD5Hb3ZiRu1MJQ1tXno6f058/s1600/Pinterest.jpg" width="181" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
I decided to do this project on a complete whim when I realized that I had everything needed lying around the house. The first step is to gather the following items: a mason jar, fresh baking soda, essential oil, a nail, and a hammer.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPhU4q4osIwQwgCtnfcwAG-ki8cUD69-tJtJ_PMvCDl8Q7vmV_l9sLOfUI81VC0hnZh_aq4YZVMU9YgN2qiFr5Elr24Vjy1b7uW5T7i57X_p6QYYioGCyW8LctQj8fgSpI1xouXDqgSfUW/s1600/Tools.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPhU4q4osIwQwgCtnfcwAG-ki8cUD69-tJtJ_PMvCDl8Q7vmV_l9sLOfUI81VC0hnZh_aq4YZVMU9YgN2qiFr5Elr24Vjy1b7uW5T7i57X_p6QYYioGCyW8LctQj8fgSpI1xouXDqgSfUW/s1600/Tools.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was nervous about punching the nail into the lid, but it was surprisingly easy. The best way to do this is to leave the lid screwed onto the jar when you nail it. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIrCp6abQwSqMg-s6xHHRQvcE_Gb0B8N1o0tKMm-OUvRFcTNUnNNczspYaJP8sNWdNNr7dCNsW8FzowImWpELAeC9IwNLerdQeQnU66eDco1Gf1dBB8lge6eQh3UOAuQwFr6hi2mMTnRai/s1600/Holes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIrCp6abQwSqMg-s6xHHRQvcE_Gb0B8N1o0tKMm-OUvRFcTNUnNNczspYaJP8sNWdNNr7dCNsW8FzowImWpELAeC9IwNLerdQeQnU66eDco1Gf1dBB8lge6eQh3UOAuQwFr6hi2mMTnRai/s1600/Holes.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The next step was to pour the baking soda and grapefruit essential oil (my favorite!) into the jar. I didn't use exact measurements and instead just dumped them both in and then stirred the mixture with a spoon. I probably poured in 7-10 drops of the essential oil. It smelled delicious! For fun, I added a ribbon.</div>

I had two mason jars so I made another one and placed it in the basket behind the garbage. The below picture is a bit dark but the jar is next to our extra trash bags.</div>

I'm so glad that I finally tried this project because it was so easy! If it works {I'll report back!}, it'll be so simple to throw out the old baking soda every month and add in a new mixture. I also like the idea of not using store bought air fresheners with all their chemicals. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I hope you give it a try! Have fun and let us know how/if you put your own spin on the project! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<i>Update (04/17/13): This air freshener worked... for like three days! I can't smell it anymore when I walk into the bathroom or open the garbage cabinet but my hope is that they are still sucking in smells.</i></div>

Hello, new readers! Thanks for stopping by <i>P is for Projects</i>! Anna and I started this blog in an effort to motivate ourselves {and hopefully YOU} to attempt more Pinterest projects. We love everything about Pinterest, except for the fact that all of those brilliant ideas just sit on our boards. So, in effort to stop pinning and start doing, here is our solution...<br />
<br />
Every week, we will do a Pinterest project from one of our massive pin boards and showcase it on the blog. A post will go up on Wednesday with the project which will give you a few days to gather supplies. The hope is that you will then attempt the project on the weekend. Projects will range from ridiculously simple to somewhat complex. Oh and don't worry, we don't own anything beyond the toolbox basics so these projects won't be too difficult. Ultimately, we just hope you use our blog to motivate yourself to make fun changes around your home!<br />
<br />
When each project posts, we will let you know how much time it took us and how much money we spent. We are breaking projects down into less than five minutes, less than fifteen minutes, and less than thirty minutes. The project will also either have one $ sign to represent $5 dollars or less, two $ signs to represent $20 or less, or three $$$ to represent more than $20. <br />
<br />
If the posted project doesn't interest you, feel free to scroll back through previous posts. Or, jump on Pinterest and try your own project! The point of our blog is to inspire and motivate each other so we'd love for you to come back and share what you did whether you attempt our projects or not!<br />
<br />
Let's do this!<br />
